Charlie Rice grew up in the concrete industry. He has worked in the industry as an independent producer as well as being part of a large corporation. After starting out in a block plant and pre-cast yard, he became plant manager for several ready mix plants for Lehigh Cement. He then became owner of Ben Hill Ready Mix and sold his operation to Thomas Concrete of Georgia where he became Vice-President with responsibilities in both the ready mix and block production areas. Getting the fever to own his own company again, he bought part of and became president of F & H Concrete. When the time came to retire he sold to RMC.
Charlie Rice, Jr. began his career in the concrete industry in 1983 erecting concrete plants. He soon went into the production side of the ready mix Industry where he spent the majority of his time over-seeing the operation of plants and equipment. He has a vast knowledge of ready mix trucks, batching and dispatching systems and the operation of plants He is A.C.I. certified and D.O.T. certified in the state of Georgia. He has worked closely with ready mix suppliers and engineers designing the layout of plants and delivering the proper equipment needed for the job.
